I have been accused of Thinking!

Vijay over at Scan Man\’s Notes has accused me of thinking.  As faithful readers of this blog (God bless both of you – especially you, Mom) would attest, I do my best to keep the thinking stuff to a minimum.  I much prefer posts about goats, monkeys, or passing gas to any of that thinking stuff.

That being said, I am flattered at the award.  His comment was that I "deserve an award for a very special kind of thinking, which is impossible to imitate."  They said the same about Don Knots.  Ah well, I\’ll take whatever good pub I can get.

This meme that was born here and there are some simple rules:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think.
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
3. Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog).

I am not going to officially "tag" people, but I will list some folks whose crania I am not worthy of….umm….taking out to dinner and having some sort of fancy cocktail with a funky kind of glass….thingy.

Without further fanfare, here is my "fab five":

1. Clark Bartram at Unintelligent Design – Clark thinks.  There is no doubt about it.  The question is really whether he says something that he has not thought about deeply and pondered relative to his worldview.
2. The Laundress – She reads so much stuff and all of her posts are so chock full \’o links to the most thought-provoking sites that I am starting to wonder if she is actually a cyborg.  It would make sense.
3. Shinga at Breath Spa for Kids – My short attention span does not do justice to her posts.  I have to have a double espresso with a Ritalin chaser to think that deeply.  When I do spend the intracranial ATP necessary to read and digest her stuff, my IQ nearly doubles.
4. Sam at Blog, MD – I think he should avoid coming to Georgia.  It is illegal to be that smart in this state.  If he did come down here, he\’d have to fake it, at least.  He is not just good in the medical stuff, but I really enjoy his stuff about big boats and music.  Heck, he\’s not even a .com, but a .org!  (All they would give me was a .disorg.)
5. Sandy at Junkfood Science – She writes and writes and writes.  All of it is well-done and thought provoking.  My thoughts feel utterly provoked whenever I read her stuff.  In fact, they feel downright infuriated, inflamed, and goaded (I got the thesaurus out for that one).  My thoughts come home and have to take a long nap after reading her stuff.

So there they are.  I have to say that I don\’t always read all they say, but when it comes to leaving comments, I always feel like saying: "uhhh….yeah.  That seems right."  What more can be said?
